Vatican city is the smallest country in the world with a population of about 1000 people. The Vatican citizenry is consisted by the clergy who works in the service of Holy See, while most of the 2.400 lay workers who comprise the majority of the Vatican workforce reside outside the Vatican and are citizens of Italy (with the exception of some from other nations).
